Oats are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates, plant protein, dietary fiber (especially beta-glucan), B vitamins, magnesium, and iron. Their high soluble fiber content helps slow the absorption of sugar into the blood, helping to balance blood sugar levels and maintain stable energy over time. In addition, oats are known to improve cardiovascular health by reducing "bad" cholesterol (LDL).

In Chinese medicine, oats are considered to warm, moisten, and nourish the SP\ST. They are particularly suitable for conditions of qi deficiency, digestive weakness, and internal cold. They calm the SHEN (soul), making them a supportive and nourishing food in situations of stress and depression. In terms of the digestive system, they are considered gentle and easy to digest, and can therefore be suitable for a variety of conditions, including intestinal infections, stomach infections, and IBS. However, due to their high fiber content, there are some people for whom they may not be suitable, and the line may be thin. Therefore, it is always recommended to consult a professional or experiment gently and observe its effect on the body.
